Read For The Crown

Founder: Jordan Elizabeth Rabon
Miss Summerville's Teen 2024

Welcome!

I am Jordan Rabon your Miss Summerville's Teen 2024 and will be competing in June for the title of Miss South Carolina's Teen. My passion is education. As a future educator, I have chosen for my community service initiative “Read for the Crown.” Did you know that according to the most recent state data, only 54% of 3rd grade students in South Carolina are reading on grade level?

Literacy is the essential foundation of all other learning. It helps young children not only read, but write, sing, listen and create meaningful communication with others. With “Read for the Crown” I have made it my mission to make my mark on the lives of children throughout South Carolina. Through this we can teach all children that it is ok to be different, read different, act different and be their own self. Helping to bridge the gap in the a statewide problem, children need to be engaged, read too and supported.

I have partnered with AmeriCorp and the United Way Ready Readers, the Dolly Parton Imagination Library and the Palmetto Project. I look forward to making my mark on the lives of our young children across the state of South Carolina. Please consider visiting my Amazon book wishlist. These books will be donated to classrooms to enrich their class libraries across the state.
